Oftentimes, the problem with the mind is the difficulty to detach from a stressful thought. As it plays and replays, it even adds scene of anticipated pressure. How to relax the mind in this case when it is hard to stop or eject stressful thought?
Understanding What Causes Stress
Obstructed desire causes stress. What makes you angry for example? There are lot of reasons why a person is angry by tracing back to his or her desire.
Anger, resentment, rejection, unfaithfulness, jealousy, failure, insomnia, life threat, and even political power are some examples of tension producers.
If we look at the examples above they are linked to a goal in a high standard or could be to a "created goal." The desire drives to pursue toward a goal. Any hindrance that obstructs the actualization of a goal causes stress or panic.
Based on the above examples, the goals could be perfect love, ideal relationship, expected result, maintaining political power, happy life, etc.
If we forget about the goal can there be stress-free life?
How I wish that we can forget goals so to live without stress. However, it is not possible because there are goals that are innate in human. No matter what, it remains there to be performed and achieved. Besides what is life without goals.
I have noticed why my desire insists in its own way and execute toward a goal even without my conscious thinking.
The challenge here is how to pacify a desire for a short period of time in order to give the self an uncompromising activity of relaxation?
|Stress management is about identifying the kind and degree of anxiety for an appropriate method as a solution. A method for de-stressing certain tension is not necessarily applicable to other form of stress. Thus I found out that there are various ways and tips to be explored and applied.|
So how to manage stress?
- Understanding the Cause of Stress
Knowing the source of stress as shown above is the first step to manage it. Such understanding will sharpen the mind's awareness to closely identify the hampered goal of self driven desire. Through this, it gives me the freedom to pursue, or suspend, or give up a goal whether temporarily or permanently.
- Meditation as Means to Relax the Mind and other benefit.
This technique requires quality time and mind concentration to allow relaxation and also healing for deep emotional wound in the past. There are lots of ways to relax but they may not give true relaxation for the inner self as meditation does. There are many methods and tips in performing it, from the basic to advance techniques as the following:
