What Prevents Relaxation To Happen

The state of relaxation has a correct process of attaining it. Missing to do the appropriate way hinders relaxation to take place. The key to a succesful relaxation is in the right disposition of a meditator.

What will happen when a person who meditates tries to stop stress in the mind?

This is a hostile inclination against the stress or anxiety. Hostile inclination is controlling stress by trying to suppress or eject its existence from the body.

I noticed this when I attempted to forcefully terminate stress in my mind. The more I made the effort to suppress its presence, the more tensed I was. It is not the correct method to get into relaxation. It is because the inclination was fighting or wrestling with stress for the purpose of ceasing or expelling it. Such action did not lead to the state of tranquility. Instead it led to tension.

So what is an effective and proper way to relax?
It is done with a waiting or receptive mood. Wait for relaxation to come until the mind and body is fully relaxed. But as you wait, it is best to start your meditation with something that is relaxing in order to charge your whole body with calmness and peace. For what you perceive is what you feel. As you do it often, hopefully it will become easy for you to get relaxed.
