Healthy Visualization Technique For Relaxation

Healthy visualization technique is bringing good health to the self. It is a goal in the mind that contains healthy imagery of the body. As the mind thinks of good health so the physical self be. It is inviting the whole body to become and behave according to the pattern of healthy mental imagery. The process is effective when the method is observed as shown below.

  1. Sit Down and Close Your Eyes
Closing the eyes enhances the mind to concentrate on the presence of tension while in sitting position.

  2. Honesty and Sensitivity to the Presence of Stress
A very important element in attaining relaxation is to become honest and sensitive to the tensions in the body. This is the very first step in treating the stress that occurs in the physical self. Feel each muscle's tension one at a time. Own it. Accept it. Be clear how it is formed in severity and degree of pain or numbness.

  3. Never Be Tempted to Divert to the Cause of Tension
It is sometimes enticing to deviate to the cause of tension. But this is not helpful at the moment. You will never get into relaxation if you allow it to happen. Just fix your attention on the muscle tension only as previously discussed in step number two.

  4. Think of a Healthy Imagery in Place of the Tension
Since the kind and intensity of tension is identified in a certain part of the body, it is now proper to think of healthy imagery that you wish to happen to a certain body part. As the mind keeps focusing on the created healthy images, you can feel the tension gradually subsides and vanishes.

Example:
Unusual heart pain. I knew the reason of its pain and the difficulty of its beating. The offender pops up in my mind; who causes also of my headache. But I withdrew the image of the offender. I rather just focused on the pain. I felt it. I knew the depth, the extent and the degree of the pain. From this acceptance and full presence and attention on the pain, I shifted and created a mental image of a heart that beats normally and free from pain. I just stick my mind on that healthy imagery. In a few minutes my heart had resumed on its normal beating as ache disappeared.

The common locations of tension in the body are throat, head, lungs, stomach, and heart.

With the above steps, I hope this technique will become helpful to you as well.
