Maintaining the Balance, the Necessity For Mental Or Emotional Healing


Relaxation is the necessary condition for healing. But what if it is difficult to relax like in a shivering fever or any sickness that hinders the body to calm?

Possible causes of sickness are compulsion, obsession or addiction, like workaholism. Any of these if prolonged can form tension and is not good to the body. Being moderate in everything is a way to take care of your body.

To avoid a workaholic inclination, I have a guideline as follows:


Take a Break
Taking a break-time for every 30 minutes or every hour will give the mind a break. Human mind often forgets the body's condition, especially when it is too absorbed and focused on the work or project. A 5-minute break-time will shift your mind to check the body's condition and know the level of its weariness before the limit.

You owe it to yourself when you listen to your body.

It is effective for me when I scan my whole body like a CT-scanner. I scan every part of my body especially to a part with the sensation of pain. Then I relaxed myself and think of healing even at break-time. It is rewarding to take care of the body in between work time.

Controlling Mental Addiction

Excessive activity due to too much preoccupation of mind in certain thing is ill-forming. The conscious mind is too focus on something while forgetting the condition of the body. Bear in mind that the conscious mind cannot know or hold two activity at the same time. That is why you have to follow some guidelines to help the self maintain the current health condition first before it will get worst.

Avoid doing an activity that you are addicted to before sleeping time. Doing it before sleeping time, the mind is in tensed condition even if you enjoyed it. Most probably, the effect is you cannot sleep well. Deprivation of complete sleep will lead you to illness. You might as well do something that can make you relaxed before sleeping time.

Time yourself. Use an alarm clock. Set it every hour so that you should stop your addicting activity. Better use an alarm clock with snooze so that it alarms and reminds you if you do not stop the activity. In the first hour you can have 5-minute break. In the second hour your can have 10-minute break. And in the third hour you can have 15-minute break. The longer you spend with your addicting activity, the longer maybe your break time in order to give yourself more time for adequate self-checking and recovery as well. If you forget these rules, you will remember these when you get sick again.

With the above rules and guidelines they help you to preserve your current health condition so to attain relaxation, the necessary condition for your mental or emotional healing.
