How To Meditate Properly

Meditative relaxation is an indispensable method in dealing with any stress.

How to meditate properly as a beginner? It is recommended to practice it at the high peak of your awareness in order to achieve meditative relaxation successfully.

Take a look below the details on how to attain meditative relaxation:

  1. Quiet Place
Quiet place helps the mind to focus. If you are living in urban area, find ways to lessen noise distraction, such as putting cotton or ear plugs into your ears.

  2. Sitting Position
Sitting is a better position than lying. It is because in lying you are easily to fall asleep. You can sit on a chair if you want. But I find Lotus Posture is more conducive for meditation. It is a typical sitting position of yoga practioner. (See Lotus Position.)

  3. Release The Tension From The Body
While sitting, release all the tensions from your body starting from head to toes. You can do a comparison, like an inflated balloon that releases its gas. In similar manner let go of the tensions in each of your body part like a gas.
Do not rush. In rushing, relaxation will not happen. Take your time. Let the relaxation do the process.
As your body is getting relaxed, your mind on the other hand should remain awake.

  4. Relaxing Place
If you find your body already relaxed as in the procedure number three, there is no need to imagine a calm place. But if you find it helpful do it. Sometimes I prefer to imagine a very relaxing place when needed. You need to close your eyes in order to capture the scenery like real.

  5. Just Enjoy the State of Relaxation
It depends on you how long you will stay in the relaxing mood. Just decide on the length of time based on your need.

Whenever you feel satisfied from the relaxation, you may begin to open your eyes slowly.
